Licensed character drinkware — think Hello Kitty and other major licensed IP — is one of the most demanding things a drinkware factory can produce, and one of the most rewarding when it's done right. The character has to be reproduced exactly, the licensor has to approve it, and every drinking surface still has to pass food-safety testing. Why Licensed IP Is Unforgiving
With a generic logo there's room to interpret. With licensed IP there isn't. Hello Kitty's proportions, a licensor's exact character colours, the exact placement and line weight — all of it is defined in the licensor's brand guide, and it either matches or it doesn't ship. A manufacturer that treats character artwork as 'close enough' will fail the approval step and cost the brand its launch window.
The Approval Workflow
We build licensed projects around the approval process, not around it. The sequence is: artwork setup to the brand guide, a pre-production approval sample, the licensor's feedback and revisions, and formal written sign-off before mass production starts. Skipping straight to production on licensed IP is how brands end up with a container of unsellable stock.

Character designs are usually full-colour and detailed, so the print method matters:
- UV digital printing: photographic, full-colour, no per-colour setup — ideal for detailed characters and multi-SKU ranges.
- Heat transfer: full-body, 360° wrap with vivid colour — the premium route for character-led designs.
- Insert-paper bottle: the artwork sits behind a clear outer wall, protecting the print and giving a glossy, full-wrap character look that's popular for Hello Kitty-style gift lines.
- Silk-screen: for simpler, solid-colour character elements at high volume.
Food Safety Still Comes First
Character appeal sells the product, but the bottle still has to be safe — especially because licensed character drinkware is so often bought for children. Every drinking surface we produce meets FDA, LFGB and EU 1935/2004 food-contact requirements, with California Prop 65 for the US market.
