Most overseas quality losses don't happen on the production line — they happen weeks later, in a customer's hands, on the other side of an ocean. 8% vs 5%: why the gap matters
An inspection rate is a probability game. A higher sampling rate catches low-frequency defects — the occasional bad seal or print fault that a 5% pull would sail past — before the whole batch ships.
What we actually check
- Visual, 100% of units: scratches, dents, coating bubbles, overspray, print misalignment, lid defects.
- Vacuum performance (sample): fill with boiling water, measure after 6 hours — and we run that test before painting, so a failed seal is a cheap reject, not a finished unit in the bin. It's most of why our defect rate stays under 0.5%.
- Lid function (sample): open/close cycles, threading, no leak when inverted.
- Logo & packaging: match to approved reference, adhesion (tape test), correct barcode and carton labels.
Packaging is part of QC, too
Inspection doesn't end at the bottle. Our own freight records are blunt: a bare bottle with no box ran 4.8% breakage on a full ocean container, while the same product in a white or colour box dropped to 0.6%. On container orders we treat custom packaging as a quality requirement, not an upsell.
The standard you set is the standard you get
Here's an uncomfortable pattern. Customers regularly come to us after an order failed at another factory — and across the quality failures they've reported to us over five years, 78% traced back to the buyer cutting quality, packaging or inspection standards to lower the unit price, not to a manufacturing mistake. A sample passing doesn't guarantee stability after storage and a long voyage, and we've been the factory called in to rescue exactly those orders.
