The FBA Supply Chain You Need to Build
FNSKU labeling: every unit needs a scannable FNSKU label applied before it enters the FC. Most China factories can do this, but you need to specify it explicitly in your PO and provide the label file. Abey does this weekly for our clients.
Prop 65 sticker for Amazon US: Required. Our stainless steel products test below threshold levels, but Amazon still requires the warning sticker. Specify this requirement to your factory.
Lead time math: Factory production 30 days + sea freight to US 25–32 days + customs clearance 5–7 days = approximately 60–70 days total. Your reorder trigger should be when you have 70+ days of inventory on hand.
FBA carton requirements: Weight limit 50 lbs per carton. Amazon-readable carton label. Poly-bagging or shrink-wrapping for items that require it. We include all of these in our FBA prep service.
Differentiation: What Makes Your Listing Convert
Color: Matte pastels and earth tones outperform standard black and stainless in most markets. The first image color is the first filter your customer applies.
Packaging: An unboxing experience that photographs well for lifestyle shots and customer review photos. The box is part of the product.
A specific use case in the title: 'Slim Vacuum Flask for Daily Commute' outperforms 'Stainless Steel Vacuum Flask' in conversion rate even when search volume is lower.
Bundling: Bottle + carrying sleeve + cleaning brush. Higher perceived value, harder for competitors to exact-match on price.
