What Folding Bottles Are Made From — And Why It Matters
Folding water bottles use food-grade silicone as the primary material. The quality of silicone varies significantly by grade:
Platinum-cure silicone (Grade A): The highest grade. Used in medical applications. No BPA, no phthalates, no filler materials that could leach. This is what our folding bottles use. FDA and Prop 65 compliant.
Peroxide-cure silicone (Grade B): Lower manufacturing cost, acceptable for most applications, but can contain trace residual curing agents. Still FDA-compliant in most formulations.
What to ask your supplier: 'Is this platinum-cure silicone, and can you provide the material safety data sheet?' A factory that can't answer this question probably doesn't know what they're using.

Logo Methods on Silicone Bottles
Silicone's flexibility and matte surface require specific printing approaches:
Silk screen (screen print): Works on silicone with silicone-compatible inks. Durable under the flex cycles the bottle goes through. Best for 1–3 color logos. Available at MOQ 500 pcs.
Embossing/debossing: The logo is moulded into the silicone surface during manufacturing. Permanent and premium. Requires mold modification — only feasible for orders of 2,000+ pieces.
Patch transfer: Heat-applied logo patch. Less durable than screen print under heavy use, but allows full color.
Heat transfer: Generally not recommended for silicone — the flexibility can cause heat transfer logos to crack over time.
