“Private label” means different things depending on how far up the line you go. Here is what each level gives you, what it costs, and where the real lock-in is.
| Level | What is yours | MOQ | What it protects |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Branded stock body | Your logo on an existing model, stock colour | 500 pcs | Nothing structural — a competitor can order the same body next week. Fine for gym merch, weak for a brand you are building. |
| 2. Matched colourway | Body, lid and mixing ball in your Pantone | 1,000 pcs | Colour is the cheapest real differentiator. Getting lid and ball to match the body is the hard part — three different materials, three different colour behaviours. |
| 3. Custom lid or measurement scale | Your scale markings, your lid geometry | 3,000 pcs + tooling | Now a competitor cannot copy it without paying for tooling too. Scale markings are the cheapest entry to this level. |
| 4. Exclusive mould | Body shape nobody else can order | 10,000 pcs + mould cost | Full protection, and the mould is yours in writing. Only makes sense when the shape itself is part of the brand. |
What we put in writing at every level: your artwork, colour references and any tooling you paid for are yours, and we do not offer them to another buyer. That is worth asking every supplier explicitly — “is this mould exclusive to us, and for how long?” is a question with a surprisingly wide range of answers.
| Decision | Options | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Mixer | Stainless wire ball · plastic grid · none | The ball mixes better and costs less, but it rattles in a gym bag — a real complaint on premium programmes. The grid is quieter and looks more considered. Gyms usually take the ball, supplement brands the grid. |
| Lid | Screw with flip cap · snap-lock | Screw seals better and survives longer. Snap-lock is faster one-handed but it is the part that starts leaking after a year as the gasket compresses. |
| Body | BPA-free PP · Tritan · 304 stainless | PP is the price point (TG-1007, TG-1012, TG-1020). Tritan is clear and holds its clarity through dishwashing. Stainless (TG-1011, TG-1019, TG-1021) is premium and keeps cold drinks cold, but you lose the ability to see the mix. |
| Storage compartment | Yes · no | Adds height and cost. Genuinely useful for post-workout use away from home; dead weight for a bottle that lives in a kitchen. |
Odour. It arrives about three months in, and it is almost never the plastic.
Protein residue collects in the lid threads and under the gasket, not on the walls. That is why a bottle can look clean and still smell. Which means the fix is structural, not material:
If your buyer will put the shaker in a dishwasher, the wide mouth matters more than every other feature on this page. Ask any supplier to show you the inside of the lid, not just the outside of the bottle — that is where the design either works or does not.
Most buyers who ask for private label shaker bottles want three things separated out, because each one carries a different cost and a different lead time. Worth splitting them before you ask anyone for a price.
Your logo on the bottle. On our BPA-free plastic shakers (TG-1007, TG-1012, TG-1020) that is silk-screen or heat transfer. Silk-screen is the workhorse for one to three colours and it survives a gym bag; heat transfer is what you use when the artwork wraps the body or fades between colours. On the 304 stainless shakers (TG-1011, TG-1019, TG-1021) laser marking gives you a permanent mark that cannot scratch off, but it reads as steel-on-steel, not as your brand colour — if you need a coloured logo on stainless, we spray the body first, then print.
Your colour. Stock colours ship at the 500-piece MOQ. A matched Pantone on the bottle, lid and mixing ball is a 1,000-piece MOQ because we mix and purge the resin for your run. Brands often forget the mixing ball is a separate moulded part — a black ball in a white bottle is free, a Pantone-matched ball is not.
Your packaging. This is where private label shaker cups differ most from a plain wholesale order: a printed sleeve, a colour box, a barcode that scans, and an insert card. For gym chains and sports-nutrition sellers we print the UPC or EAN straight onto the box and scan-test it before the carton is sealed — a barcode that will not scan at a retail till is the one defect that gets a whole shipment rejected, and we have seen it happen to buyers who came to us afterwards.
Branded shaker bottles for gyms are a different brief from retail. Gyms buy for resale at the front desk and for member welcome packs, so the two things that matter are cost per unit at volume and a lid that survives being thrown in a bag every day. We steer gym programmes to TG-1007 (400 ml, mixing ball) or TG-1020 (400 and 600 ml) — plastic keeps the landed cost down, and the flip cap is the part we test hardest.
Supplement brands buying for e-commerce usually want the 600 ml storage-base model (TG-1012), because a shaker that carries powder for a second serve photographs better on a listing and justifies a higher price. Studios and premium fitness brands go stainless — TG-1019 (500 and 750 ml, measuring scale) or TG-1021 (600 ml, scale and storage tray) — where the shaker doubles as a retail gift rather than a giveaway.
Whichever way you buy — direct, or through a sourcing agent who already handles your QC — ask for the leak test before you commit a container. Ours is simple and we will film it for you: filled to capacity, lid closed, inverted and shaken for thirty seconds, then stood on paper. Any shaker that marks the paper does not ship.
Pair shakers with sport bottles or a gym gift set for a complete fitness range.

Four levels, and they are worth distinguishing before you budget. Your logo on a stock body starts at 500 pieces — but it protects nothing, since a competitor can order the same body. A matched Pantone across body, lid and mixing ball starts at 1,000 and is the cheapest real differentiator. Custom scale markings or lid geometry need about 3,000 plus tooling, and now a competitor cannot copy you without paying for tooling too. An exclusive mould is 10,000 plus the mould cost, and the shape becomes yours in writing. Whatever level you take, ask explicitly: is this exclusive to us, and for how long? The answers across suppliers vary more than you would expect.
The stainless wire ball mixes better and costs less, so it is the default for gym and club programmes. The catch is noise: it rattles in a bag, and on a premium supplement brand that becomes a review complaint. A plastic grid is quieter and reads as more considered, at slightly higher cost and marginally worse mixing on thick powders. If your buyer is a supplement brand selling direct to consumers, the grid usually wins; if it is a gym buying 2,000 units for members, the ball does.
The residue sits in the lid threads and under the gasket, not on the walls — which is why a bottle can look clean and still smell. Three things actually fix it: a wide mouth so a hand or brush reaches the bottom, a removable gasket, and a coarse thread profile that sheds residue instead of holding it. The thread profile is invisible on a spec sheet and obvious after six months of use. If your buyer will use a dishwasher, the wide mouth matters more than anything else on the spec.
Yes, from 1,000 pieces. This is harder than it sounds, which is why it is worth confirming up front: the body is sprayed or moulded PP, the lid is a different resin, and the ball is coated steel — three materials that take the same pigment differently. We match against a physical sample rather than a screen reference, and we keep that approved sample on file so repeat orders do not drift. Colour variation between batches is the most common complaint on reorders, and matching to a stored physical sample is what prevents it.
Yes — TG-1011, TG-1019 and TG-1021 are single-wall 304 stainless, 350–1000 ml. They feel premium, keep cold drinks cold longer, and take laser engraving that never wears off. The trade-off buyers sometimes miss: you cannot see the mix. For a protein brand whose customers check whether the powder has dissolved, that matters. Plastic bodies (TG-1007, TG-1012, TG-1020 in BPA-free PP) stay visible and cost less.
500 pieces per design in stock colours, which is a real starting quantity rather than a token one — most of our long-term supplement clients began there. A matched Pantone runs from 1,000. What we would suggest for a first order: take 500 in a stock colour with your logo, sell through, and put the learning into the second order rather than betting a large quantity on a spec you have not tested with your customers yet.
