Heat retention depends on the model, capacity, lid, fill level and use. A vacuum flask slows cooling; when you choose a model, we can discuss the data available and the conditions behind it.
The vacuum cavity slows heat transfer. Capacity and lid design also affect the way a flask performs, so compare models under the same conditions.
Follow the model’s filling guidance. Fill level and the starting temperature are part of the conditions to keep with any retention figure.
Use any preparation instructions supplied for the chosen flask. Preheating guidance should stay with the model’s care information, without promising an extra number of hours across the range.
Every time you open it, heat escapes. A tight, insulated lid and fewer openings keep the temperature up.
Compare retention information for the actual capacity and lid you are considering. A figure for one model or size should not be transferred to another.
Single-wall, non-vacuum double-wall and vacuum models serve different briefs. We state the selected construction clearly beside the capacity and lid in your quotation.
Single-wall. One layer of steel or plastic with no insulation gap. It is light and can suit cold drinks, promotions and uses where heat retention is not the priority.
Double-wall without vacuum. Two layers with an air gap, sometimes a plastic shell over a stainless inner. It can suit desk and café use; we will identify the construction in the product details.
Double-wall vacuum. The air is drawn out between two walls to slow heat transfer. The available retention information still depends on the model and conditions.
When comparing heat-retention figures, use the same capacity, fill level, starting temperature and test duration. We can discuss the available data for the chosen model and any specific report your programme needs.
Send the intended use and budget together. We can compare constructions, lids and capacities and explain their effect on the quotation before the sample is arranged.
Fill level, opening the lid and the surrounding temperature all affect heat retention. If a figure will appear on your packaging, let us know so we can confirm the model and test conditions together.
